Wayne Law Has Strong Showing in Jaffe Transactional Law Competition and Invitational

Twenty-five Wayne Law students participated in the 2021 Jaffe Transactional Law Competition under the supervision of Associate Professor Eric A. Zacks. Winners included:

Negotiations (seller’s counsel) and drafting (seller’s counsel): Muhammad Siwani and Andrew Vailliencourt
Negotiations (buyer’s counsel): Lily Indenbaum and Danielle Kus
Drafting (buyer’s counsel): Kevin Chrustowski and Christopher Sims

At the 2022 Jaffe Transactional Law Invitational, Wayne Law’s Lily Indenbaum, Muhannad Al-Ujayli, Andrew Vailliencourt and Muhammad Siwani achieved second place in the buyer’s counsel Zoom negotiations and tied for second place in overall drafting.

Navarre wins fall Moot Court
in-house competition

Wayne Law students virtually competed in the fall 2021 Moot Court In-House Competition Nov. 13, 2021. Amanda Navarre and Margaret Reaume advanced to the final round of competition, where Navarre was named the winner.

Wayne Law Advances to Octo-Finals of ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition

Katelyn Maddock, along with teammates Andrew Keating and Sara Mickovic, advanced to the octo-finals in the national rounds of the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Maddock earned the ninth-best advocate award, the highest oral advocacy placement of any Wayne Law competitor.

Fatima Dakroub was recognized as the 2022 Dickinson Wright Women’s Network Scholar by the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation.

Dominica R. Convertino received both a Foundation Scholarship and the Dawn Van Hoek Scholarship from the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation.
